USES OF IT FOR NIGERIAN WOMEN
*
The Oxford English Dictionary, defines information technology as
"The branch of technology concerned with the dissemination, processing, and storage of information, especially by means of computers".
Its use to human cannot be quantifiable. But, to be precise concerning its use to the Nigerian women, information technology from what I’ve learnt here in W.TEC so far can make her achieve the following.
v Acquire more useful information in her area of interest
v Promote her course, ( ACTIVISM, ADVOCACY, CAMPAIGNS, ETC )
v Educate her on global events
v Help in carrying out Research. This could be through the use of blogs, websites and other community sites to ask such questions.
v Build a community where issues will be raised and solutions proffered.
* Promote business ideas, expand capacity
v Can help build a world of their dream where women will be seen as not just a being but A WONDERMAN which in short is termed WOMAN. A MYSTERY AMONGST MEN.
v Can you now tell why Jesus was called WONDERFUL……………………..?
v Give your definition of WONDER.

Development and Me
Empower in simple English can be said to be;
Here at W.TEC one of their major aim is to empower young women/females at different age levels in order for them to influence their society positively.
For me, as a participant and beneficiary of this project, some of the ways i'll employ to empower other women include;
GIVE POWER TO, AUTHORIZE ................Give power to someone to achieve a goal/aim. Give a person the strength to do something.
Here at W.TEC one of their major aim is to empower young women/females at different age levels in order for them to influence their society positively.
For me, as a participant and beneficiary of this project, some of the ways i'll employ to empower other women include;
Through our Expanding horizons project in DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP INTERNATIONAL. developmentpartnership.org
By empowering our gender coordinator, which will in turn reach out to other women through her programmes. And also, other young female members through our in-house capacity building programmes.
Through seminars and symposiums organized in schools. From secondary to University levels. The major focus will be; Women and ICT in the 21st century.
And also, as an aspiring Executive Director of the organisation, put up a monthly programme to educate young women on the importance of ICT in the development of their career and life in general.

dreams
Learning at the W.TEC. training centre is so far the best thing I ever imagined that could happen to me.
The educationists believe that learning is a lifelong process; it starts from birth and ends at death. For me, it’s the same.
Minding the fact that Nigeria and Africa looks forward to a world of ICT for every individual in the continent by 2015, it has become pertinent for patriotic citizens to equip themselves in order to train up others to meet this development goal.
W.TEC. has made it easier for women to play a major role in this, and I am one of the beneficiaries of this training. These are some of the things I’ve learned for these few days. They are;
Using of the Microsoft word in;
a) Typing and usage of keys on the keyboard, especially short cut function keys.
b) Designing of posters and fliers which includes;
i) Making use of colours
ii) Making use of different shapes in drawing
iii) And also, measurement of papers to the desirable size before usage.
Opening and usage of Blogs, its importance to me as a user and the world in general.
How to have a community, and own a functional blog site.
How to take pictures with a digital camera, mobile phone,etc.
How to transfer pictures in a mobile phone or digital camera to a system for editing.
How to edit pictures pictures using software called GIMP on a computer.
These are some of the interesting things I’ve learnt so far in the on-going training at the W.TEC. young women’s programme.
I’ll tell you more.

I have a passion for change in Nigeria. I believe greatly in our country. My colleague; Miss Bisola once said,
So, i urge you this morning to start believing in Nigeria. THINGS CAN ALWAYS, AND WILL ALWAYS CHANGE FOR GOOD.
GOOD MORNING 9ja!
You don't contribute to something you don't believe in.I agree with her. It starts from believing first in what you want changed. The bible also stresses greatly on BELIEVE, it says;
To them that believe, he gave power to become..................................
So, i urge you this morning to start believing in Nigeria. THINGS CAN ALWAYS, AND WILL ALWAYS CHANGE FOR GOOD.
GOOD MORNING 9ja!
